New Mexico residents should prepare for a mix of rain and snow showers starting Tuesday night, with temperatures dipping below freezing. Albuquerque will see mild conditions Monday before precipitation chances rise midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 67°F. A slight chance of sprinkles will develop Monday night as temperatures fall to 34°F. On Tuesday, a 20% chance of showers is expected in the afternoon, with highs reaching 62°F.

By Tuesday night, colder air will push temperatures down to 28°F, bringing another chance of light rain. On Wednesday morning, a slight chance of snow showers could impact commuters, followed by rain in the afternoon. Highs will only reach 52°F.

Nighttime lows will continue dropping, with Wednesday night expected to reach 17°F. Thursday will bring some relief with partly sunny skies and highs near 52°F before another storm system arrives Friday with more rain and snow.

Drivers along Interstate 40 should use caution, particularly Wednesday morning. Be prepared for slick roads and freezing temperatures overnight.
