Carbon and Monroe Counties, PA – A winter weather advisory will bring hazardous road conditions to parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey tonight into Monday morning. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, will last from 7 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday.

In Pennsylvania’s Carbon and Monroe counties, drivers should prepare for 1 to 3 inches of snow and light ice accumulations. New Jersey’s Sussex and Warren counties could see up to an inch of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice. The mix will begin as snow Sunday evening, transition to sleet and freezing rain overnight, and change to rain by Monday morning.

According to the NWS, slippery roadways are expected to impact the Monday morning commute. Drivers should reduce speeds and allow extra time for travel. For real-time updates, call 511 or visit local traffic resources.

Stay safe by packing emergency supplies, clearing vehicles of snow, and staying informed about changing conditions.
