Philadelphia, PA – Thunder rumbled across parts of eastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey this morning, with more showers and gusty thunderstorms expected through early Saturday evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the region will remain warm and humid today, with highs in the 70s inland and 60s along the Jersey Shore. Isolated storms could bring brief downpours and strong wind gusts through about 7 p.m., especially near Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington.
Despite the storm risk, forecasters say today won’t be a total washout. Intermittent dry periods are likely between storms, particularly in the early afternoon. Travel disruptions may still occur on I-95, the Atlantic City Expressway, and other major corridors during heavier showers.
Residents should secure outdoor items and remain alert for rapidly changing conditions. Gusty winds may bring down small limbs or power lines in localized spots.
Cooler air moves in overnight. Sunday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies, but it will be breezy and much cooler, with highs only in the 50s and low 60s.
More updates are expected if additional advisories are issued.
