Concord, N.H. – Winter weather across New Hampshire on Saturday caused hazardous road conditions, leading to dozens of crashes and vehicles off the road.

Between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., state troopers responded to 69 reported crashes, including a pickup truck rollover on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua. Authorities also handled 29 reports of vehicles sliding off the road and provided assistance to nine additional drivers. Most incidents occurred in Rockingham, Hillsborough, and Strafford counties. No injuries were reported.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, speed limits were temporarily reduced on Interstate 95, the F.E. Everett Turnpike, and Interstate 93 due to snow-covered roads. Drivers faced poor visibility and slippery conditions, making travel treacherous.

Authorities urge motorists to remain cautious, especially with more winter weather expected. Drivers should maintain safe speeds, allow for longer reaction times, and keep a greater distance from other vehicles, including snowplows.

State Police also remind drivers to follow RSA 265:37-a, the Move Over law, which mandates slowing down and changing lanes for emergency vehicles. Additionally, RSA 265:79-b, Jessica’s Law, requires snow and ice removal from vehicles before driving. Violators risk fines and additional penalties for repeated offenses.

Officials encourage residents to monitor weather forecasts and prepare for potential delays during snowstorms. Precautionary measures can prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s safety during winter travel.
