Berlin, NH – The unsolved homicide of a Berlin teenager remains an open case more than three decades later, and New Hampshire State Police are renewing their call for public assistance this week in hopes of generating new leads.

The body of Raymond Breault, 17, was discovered around 6:30 a.m. on April 22, 1987, by railroad workers along a railroad bed near Jericho Road in Berlin, according to the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit. Breault, a resident of Jericho Road, died from a single stab wound to the heart.

Investigators say Breault’s case remains one of the state’s many cold cases, and they are actively seeking tips that could help bring closure to his family. His killing is classified as an unsolved homicide.

State police recently shared a renewed alert on social media, featuring a photograph of Breault and details of the case, urging the public to come forward with any information they may have — no matter how minor it may seem. The Cold Case Unit emphasized that community involvement is often key in solving long-standing cases.

The department encourages anyone with knowledge of Breault’s death or suspicious activity near Jericho Road in the spring of 1987 to contact the Cold Case Unit. Tips can be submitted anonymously via an online form at business.nh.gov or by emailing coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov.

Breault’s family and investigators hope that someone will come forward to help bring long-awaited justice in the case that has remained dormant for nearly 40 years.
