Auburn, NH – A high-speed police pursuit on Route 101 ended Friday with the arrest of a New York man wanted on a burglary warrant, according to state authorities.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, the pursuit began around 5:33 p.m. Friday when Troopers took over a chase initially led by the Epping Police Department. The suspect, later identified as Anthony G. Finelli, 44, of The Bronx, was driving a 2017 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Route 101 when he failed to stop for police and continued at high speeds through Raymond, Candia and Auburn.

Troopers said the Hyundai evaded the first set of tire deflation devices near Exit 3, but slowed as additional devices deployed by Auburn Police near Exit 2 successfully deflated the vehicle’s tires. Finelli continued slowly onto Hooksett Road before stopping in a business parking lot.

Police said Finelli was initially noncompliant but was eventually taken into custody by members of Troop A and Troop B. Authorities determined he was the subject of an active felony burglary warrant issued by the New York City Police Department. NYPD has requested Finelli be held in New Hampshire pending extradition.

Finelli was charged by New Hampshire State Police as a fugitive from justice, along with two felony counts of reckless conduct, one count of misdemeanor disobeying an officer, and one count of obstructing government administration. He is being held at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections with a court appearance set for Monday, July 7, 2025, in Candia District Court.

No booking photo is available as the investigation remains active. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Trooper Seth Parker at Seth.W.Parker@DOS.NH.GOV.
