Tamworth, NH – A Meredith man was arrested after allegedly threatening staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Tamworth.
On Tuesday, 64-year-old Edmund Therrien, Jr. allegedly became upset with DMV staff, threatening to return with a gun. State Troopers from Troop E and Troop G responded to the scene after DMV staff reported the incident that morning. According to police, Therrien left the DMV after making the threat but returned later that afternoon.
At 1:10 p.m., DMV staff notified Troopers next door that the suspect had returned and was inside the building. Troopers quickly responded and took Therrien into custody without incident.
Therrien was charged with criminal threatening and processed, bailed, and released. Additionally, he was issued a no-trespass order barring him from any New Hampshire DMV office.
