Weare, NH – The New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit is renewing efforts to solve the 1979 homicide of Kenneth Jache, whose body was discovered 46 years ago in a burned vehicle in South Weare.

According to investigators, on October 14, 1979, authorities located a fire-damaged Subaru station wagon in a gravel pit off Gould Road. Inside, they found the remains of Kenneth Jache, 28, who was later identified through dental records.

An autopsy revealed that Jache had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was killed prior to the fire that destroyed the vehicle. Despite decades of investigation, the case remains unsolved.

State police are urging anyone with information—no matter how small—to come forward. “Help us solve this case and bring justice to the family of the victim,” officials said in a statement.
