Meredith, NH – The cold case of a young girl’s death remains unsolved more than three decades after the incident. Angel Hazelton, a 21-month-old toddler, was found dead in Meredith, New Hampshire, under mysterious circumstances that authorities are still investigating.
On August 12, 1989, Angel’s mother, Angela Lane, and her boyfriend, Wayne Kimball, called for an ambulance as the child was suffering from severe seizures. She was initially taken to Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia and later transported to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she tragically died on April 15, 1989. An autopsy revealed that Angel died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, with injuries consistent with having occurred up to one week prior to her death.
At the time, Angel lived with her mother and Kimball on Stagecoach Road in Meredith. She also spent time with her father, David Hazelton, who lived on Oxbow Road in New Hampton. Authorities continue to seek answers regarding the circumstances leading to her tragic death.
New Hampshire State Police are urging anyone with information on the case to come forward. The investigation into Angel’s death remains open, and officials have asked the public to submit tips via the Cold Case Unit’s online portal.
This case serves as a somber reminder of the unsolved mysteries that still need answers, with Angel’s family seeking justice for a life cut tragically short.
