Boston, MA – A dull gray sky hangs low over the Charles River this morning, with cool mist clinging to city streets. It’s a quiet, chilly start — the kind that hints change is on the horizon.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, early rain will clear today, giving way to brighter skies and temperatures climbing into the upper 40s. Sunday and Monday promise calmer conditions, with sunshine and light winds returning — ideal weather for outdoor errands or early Thanksgiving travel.

By Tuesday, however, a new weather system pushes into New England. Rain and gusty winds are expected across the Boston metro and coastal areas, especially during the afternoon and evening commute. Travelers along I-90, I-93, and Logan Airport could face slower travel times as wet pavement and reduced visibility develop.

The upcoming system marks the leading edge of a larger nationwide cold front stretching from the Midwest to the East Coast. This front will bring much colder air to the region by Thanksgiving Day. While no snow is currently expected in Boston, models hint that colder air late next week could produce the season’s first winter tease for northern New England.

Five-Day Outlook (Boston, MA):

  • Today: Light rain early, clearing later, high 49°F.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, high 45°F.
  • Monday: Sunny, high 48°F.
  • Tuesday: Rain developing, high 50°F.
  • Wednesday: Rain early, breezy, high 50°F.
