New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning in New Castle County, impacting residents along a busy commercial corridor near the Wilmington metro area.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, to the 3800 block of North Dupont Highway for a reported robbery. Investigators said the victim, a business owner, was walking to their vehicle when they were allegedly approached by two masked men.

Police say one of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded the victim’s personal property. The armed suspect allegedly searched the victim’s pockets before both suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Authorities confirmed the victim was not injured during the encounter.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate the case. Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has relevant information to come forward.
