Carson City, NV – A two-vehicle crash with life-threatening injuries shut down parts of US50 westbound near the Golf Club in Carson City late Saturday afternoon, causing major delays and drawing a heavy emergency response.

According to the Nevada State Police, the crash occurred around 4:03 p.m. Saturday and resulted in the closure of the number two travel lane on westbound US50. Authorities said intermittent full closures are expected to continue for the next two to three hours as investigators and emergency crews work the scene.

The severity of injuries has not yet been officially released, but responders on-site reported the crash involved life-threatening injuries. Drivers in the area are urged to slow down, remain vigilant for first responders, and avoid the area entirely if possible.

No timeline has been given for a full reopening of the highway. The Nevada State Police advised motorists to monitor traffic updates and seek alternative routes throughout the evening.

This crash adds to a growing number of serious incidents along Nevada’s highways during the summer travel season. Motorists are reminded to use caution, especially in high-traffic corridors like US50.
