Pocatello, ID – A flood advisory remains in effect for Cassia County, Idaho, due to rapid snowmelt, with urban and small stream flooding expected through 1 p.m. MST Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pocatello.

Emergency management has reported minor flooding in low-lying areas, with water covering roadways and ponding in urban locations. Affected areas include Albion, Elba, Almo, Mt. Harrison, and the City of Rocks. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and find alternate routes.

Meanwhile, in northern Nevada, the Owyhee River near Mountain City has been rising due to warm temperatures accelerating snowmelt. Though flood stage is at 8.0 feet, elevated river levels are expected to persist through Saturday morning.
