Omaha, NE – Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop along the Interstate 80 corridor in eastern Nebraska, posing a significant risk of hail and strong winds through the late afternoon. The strongest storms are forming on the southern edge of a developing cluster, which may intensify between 4-5 PM CDT.

According to the National Weather Service, recent storm activity near Norfolk, Nebraska, has increased due to favorable atmospheric conditions, including a moist boundary layer and strong deep-layer shear. Residents along the I-80 corridor should prepare for possible severe weather as a watch could be issued soon.
