Hastings, NE – After days of bitter cold, Nebraska is set for a major warmup this weekend, with temperatures climbing to 40°F on Saturday and reaching 60°F by Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, as wind chills between -15°F and -25°F continue to pose a frostbite risk. However, relief is on the way. Saturday will bring a dramatic shift, with sunny skies and highs near 40°F, followed by even warmer temperatures Sunday and Monday.

Friday will remain cold, with a high of just 21°F and wind chills as low as -26°F. By Sunday, temperatures will hit 45°F, and Monday will feel almost spring-like at 60°F. Mostly clear conditions are expected through early next week, though a slight chance of rain returns by Tuesday night.

Residents should still take precautions Friday, but by Saturday, outdoor activities will be much more comfortable. Stay updated on weather alerts at weather.gov/hastings.
