Chicago, IL – Chicago residents will wake up to a cold but sunny Saturday, with temperatures gradually warming in the days ahead.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will start with frigid morning temperatures in the mid-teens before climbing to a high of 34°F. Skies will remain mostly sunny, but a steady southwest breeze of 10 to 15 mph will make it feel colder. By Saturday night, temperatures will drop to the mid-20s under partly cloudy skies.
Sunday will bring another bump in temperatures, with highs reaching 42°F under partly sunny conditions. The warming trend continues into Monday, as highs climb to 46°F with mostly dry conditions. However, a chance of rain arrives Monday night, continuing into Tuesday when highs approach 45°F.
The next significant weather change could come midweek, as scattered rain showers are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday. Temperatures will stay mild, hovering in the mid-40s, before another drop toward the end of the week.
For those heading out early Saturday, dressing in layers will be crucial to staying warm. Despite the cold start, a sunny afternoon will make outdoor activities more comfortable.
