Omaha, NE – Nebraska is bracing for severe storms starting tonight and continuing into Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) Omaha/Valley has issued a severe storm warning, highlighting significant weather threats.

According to the NWS, the first wave of storms is expected to develop between 7 PM and midnight tonight, particularly in northeast Nebraska, where a weak cool front has stalled. These storms may produce damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters.

The severe weather threat intensifies on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The NWS warns that storms could bring large hail up to baseball size, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and possibly a brief tornado or two. The highest risk period for these severe storms is from 4 PM to midnight on Tuesday
