Omaha, NE – A winter storm will bring gusty winds, snow, and bitter cold to Nebraska from Friday into Saturday. Forecasters warn of low visibility and hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, strong winds will cause blowing snow Friday and Saturday. A quick burst of snow and sleet Friday morning could further reduce visibility, mainly in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.
Another round of accumulating snow is expected, with a 30–60% chance of snowfall through Saturday. A narrow heavy snow band could form, but its exact location remains uncertain.
Dangerous wind chills will return Sunday morning and last through Thursday. Bitter cold temperatures will make outdoor conditions hazardous.
Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility. Strong winds could worsen travel conditions. Officials urge residents to stay informed and take precautions against the extreme cold.
