Omaha, NE – Nebraska will see a stretch of warmer weather this week, with temperatures climbing into the 50s by Tuesday and Wednesday. The milder conditions offer a break from the recent cold, but a return of wintry weather is expected by Friday, raising concerns for travel disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring sunny skies and highs near 51 degrees in Omaha, accompanied by breezy southwest winds that may elevate fire risks. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to remain sunny, with highs reaching 53 and 48 degrees, respectively. The warm-up, however, could trigger ice jam flooding as melting ice breaks up along area rivers.

The forecast changes Thursday night into Friday, with a chance of rain and snow moving into the area. Friday’s high near 42 degrees will drop to freezing temperatures overnight, creating the potential for slick roads and hazardous driving conditions.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates closely throughout the week and prepare for possible flooding and icy conditions. Travelers should stay alert Friday and plan for potential delays as the storm system moves through.
