Nashville, TN – A rainy start to the weekend will give way to plummeting temperatures and clear skies by Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 60% chance of showers beginning Friday evening and lasting through Saturday morning. Daytime temperatures on Friday will peak at 55°F before dipping to 44°F overnight. Rainfall could make travel on Friday night and early Saturday slick, particularly in low-lying areas.
Saturday will remain cloudy with a high of 42°F, but temperatures will drop significantly by nightfall, reaching a frigid low of 25°F. Residents are urged to bundle up as strong north winds may make it feel even colder.
Sunday will bring mostly cloudy skies and highs near 31°F. Overnight lows will plunge to 11°F, setting the stage for a brisk Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Monday’s weather is expected to be sunny but unseasonably cold, with highs struggling to reach 23°F.
Locals are encouraged to dress in layers, stay updated on road conditions, and take precautions when traveling. Be prepared for icy surfaces and the possibility of frost on vehicles throughout the weekend.
