Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has extended a Flash Flood Warning for multiple counties in Middle Tennessee, including Davidson, Cheatham, Robertson, Sumner, and Williamson, until 10:45 PM CDT Saturday as heavy rainfall continues to impact the region.

According to the NWS, up to 3 inches of rain have already fallen in several areas, with an additional inch possible as storms persist. Emergency management officials have reported flash flooding, particularly in urban areas, low-lying spots, and along small creeks and streams. Impacted cities include Nashville, Franklin, Lebanon, Gallatin, Columbia, and Dickson.

Authorities are warning residents to avoid flooded roads, emphasizing the dangers of driving through high water. The NWS advises, “Turn around, don’t drown,” as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is expected on highways, streets, and underpasses, with some structures potentially at risk.

Residents in the affected areas should remain alert for rising waters and be prepared to seek higher ground if necessary. If travel is unavoidable, drivers should use extreme caution and check local emergency updates.
