Naperville, IL – The Naperville Police Department is currently inviting applications for its Spring 2024 Citizen Police Academy (CPA). This interactive, 10-week course is scheduled to start on March 6, 2024, offering participants an in-depth view of police operations.

According to Police Chief Jason Arres, the CPA provides an “excellent opportunity” for residents to gain firsthand knowledge of the police department’s day-to-day operations. The curriculum includes classroom lectures, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations, covering topics like patrol, investigations, forensics, and special response.

Classes are free and will be hosted at the Naperville Police Department. With a limited capacity of 24 participants, the course requires applicants to be at least 18 years old and to reside or work in Naperville. A mandatory criminal background check is part of the application process.

Interested individuals must submit their applications by January 31, 2024. Application forms and waivers are available on the Naperville city website. Completed documents can be returned via email, fax, or in person to the Naperville Police Department.
