Naperville, IL – A Cook County man faces serious charges after allegedly being caught with an illegal firearm in the parking lot of Naperville’s Topgolf facility. Courtney Bennett, 36, of Dolton, was charged with one count of Armed Habitual Criminal, a Class X felony, due to his prior felony weapons convictions.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, Bennett was arrested early Sunday after Naperville police allegedly observed a firearm in his vehicle during surveillance. Bennett, who also faces additional charges including resisting a police officer and possession of cannabis, is being held without bail. His arraignment is set for September 16.
