Naperville Sting Operation on Route 59 Leads to Arrest of Men for Cocaine Sales

Naperville, IL – Naperville Police have apprehended a Wauconda man on multiple alleged felony charges, concluding a month-long investigation into cocaine distribution in the area. The arrest of Aaron J. Koonce, 24, occurred on Jan. 19, 2024, in a parking lot on Illinois Route 59, Naperville.

According to Naperville Police, Koonce, a resident of South Maple Avenue in Wauconda, faces two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, including a Class X felony and a Class 1 felony, as well as a Class 4 felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Additionally, Kenny A. Navarrete, 29, from Beach Street, Island Lake, was arrested at the scene. Allegedly found with a loaded handgun and cocaine, Navarrete is charged with Armed Violence (Class X felony) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 felony). A third individual, a 29-year-old man from Wauconda driving the vehicle, was also arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

The Naperville Police Department emphasizes that these charges are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
