Naperville police arrested two men early Thursday after they allegedly broke into a smoke shop on West Ogden Avenue. A witness reported hearing glass shattering around 2:30 a.m. and saw two suspects dressed in black fleeing the scene.

Officers arrived and found broken glass at the store. They quickly located the suspects near Jefferson Avenue and Georgia Court. Investigators believe Elija I. Castillo, 20, of Joliet, threw a rock through the window to gain entry. As he left, he allegedly dropped stolen items, which Jason P. Crumpacker, 20, of Naperville, picked up before they ran.

Police say both men attempted to escape but were caught shortly after. Officers arrested Castillo and Crumpacker without incident. Each faces one count of burglary, a Class 2 felony.

Authorities remind the public that charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Police urge anyone with more information to contact the Naperville Police Department.
