DuPage County, IL – Two Chicago men face charges for allegedly attempting to burglarize a Naperville home. Authorities apprehended Rocky Miller, 45, and Vincent Ely, 21, after a police pursuit that spanned multiple jurisdictions.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, the incident began October 4 when Downers Grove police followed a vehicle occupied by the defendants to a residence on Apache Drive. When they received no response at the front door, the men allegedly forced open the back door. One of the homeowners screamed, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.

Officers tracked the suspects’ vehicle to a Chicago White Castle. Miller, the alleged driver, evaded a traffic stop, injuring a Lincolnwood officer and damaging squad cars and civilian vehicles in a high-speed chase. The suspects later abandoned their vehicle and allegedly switched to a minivan, which crashed shortly afterward. Both suspects were arrested following a brief foot chase.

Berlin praised the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, emphasizing DuPage County’s commitment to protecting the community. The men face charges of Attempt Residential Burglary, and their next court dates are set for October 29 and October 30, respectively.
