La Grange, IL – A peculiar and unsettling incident gripped La Grange Friday around 4:00 PM, when a group of kids had a bizarre encounter near Seventh Avenue School’s soccer field.
According to police reports a man, described as an older White male with black hair, a bald spot, and a white beard, pulled up alongside the kids in a gray 4-door SUV with tinted windows. What made the encounter stranger is that he was holding a soccer ball, in a box.
Rather than approaching the man or his vehicle, the quick-thinking juveniles wisely refrained from engaging further. The man eventually left the area without incident, leaving behind a sense of general unease.
Prompted by this unsettling event, Seventh Avenue School and the La Grange Police Department were swiftly informed on Monday, September 11th, 2023. In response, the police department has vowed to increase patrols around local schools and parks to ensure community safety.
