Mount Clemens, MI – A juvenile suspect was taken into custody this week following an alleged shooting incident at a local business in Mount Clemens that prompted a significant law enforcement response.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened Wednesday at approximately 9:55 p.m. in the area of 100 Northbound Gratiot Avenue after deputies responded to reports of shots fired. Authorities say multiple individuals were gathered when a juvenile male from New Baltimore allegedly began firing shots at a 19-year-old man from St. Clair Shores. The victim was not injured, though property damage was reported at the scene.

Investigators said the suspect allegedly fled before deputies arrived, leading to a coordinated effort to identify and locate the individual. On Thursday, detectives, working alongside the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 50600 block of Jefferson Avenue in New Baltimore. Officials said the nature of the alleged offense and the potential presence of a firearm required a controlled and methodical entry.

The juvenile suspect was allegedly located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. Authorities reported that detectives continued gathering evidence at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.

Law enforcement officials stated the suspect remains in custody while the case is reviewed. The investigation into the alleged assault with intent to murder remains active, and additional details may be released as they become available.

No further injuries have been reported, and officials have not disclosed the identities of those involved due to the suspect’s age.
