Nashville, TN – A motorcyclist died in a high-speed crash on Nolensville Pike near Goins Road on Sunday at 4:15 p.m.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Marco Macias, 23, of Nashville, was riding a BMW S1000RR southbound at a high speed. He struck the front of a Chevrolet Silverado as it entered the road from a parking lot. The impact sent the motorcycle into the opposite lane, where it crashed into a northbound Jeep Compass.

Macias died at the scene. The 32-year-old Silverado driver was uninjured. The 22-year-old Jeep driver and her 2-year-old son were taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center for evaluation.

Investigators say excessive speed contributed to the crash. The Metro Nashville Police Department urges motorcyclists to stay visible, allow space, check blind spots, and wear helmets.
