Morris Parolee Arrested After Robbery and Burglary in Dwight, Illinois

Dwight, IL – A Morris man was taken into custody after a traffic stop revealed his involvement in a robbery and burglary that occurred on April 7 in Dwight.

According to the Dwight Police Department, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and Morris Police Department stopped a vehicle on April 8, which was linked to the robbery. The vehicle, driven by a female, was occupied by Andrew Viles, a parolee currently on supervised release from Morris. Viles was arrested and transported to the Livingston County Jail.

Evidence related to the robbery was reportedly found inside the truck driven by the female suspect. Viles, who is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, faces charges for the alleged crimes.

The Dwight Police Department thanked the law enforcement agencies involved, including the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Morris Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and Vcom for their cooperation in the investigation.

Details regarding the case were initially withheld to prevent alerting the suspect. Authorities are confident the suspect is no longer in the area and appreciate the public’s understanding during the ongoing investigation.
