Billings, MT – Lower elevations in Montana, including areas along the I-90 corridor, are expected to see snow Saturday night into Sunday. Residents and travelers should prepare for potentially hazardous driving conditions as temperatures drop and light accumulations begin.

According to the National Weather Service in Billings, rain will transition to snow late Saturday night, with a 60% chance of precipitation after 11 p.m. Areas west of Billings could see 1-2 inches of snow accumulation, while mountainous regions in the Beartooth and Crazy Mountains may receive 4-7 inches. Gusty northeast winds could further reduce visibility for drivers.

Sunday’s high is forecasted at a chilly 33°F, with snow tapering off by mid-morning. Roads are expected to be icy, especially on bridges and overpasses. If traveling along I-90 or through Livingston, where high winds are common, exercise caution and consider delaying plans until conditions improve.

Temperatures will remain below average heading into Thanksgiving week. Monday’s high is 35°F, with mostly sunny skies, while Tuesday will see a slight warm-up to 43°F. Long-term forecasts suggest cold but dry conditions on Thanksgiving Day, with highs in the mid-30s.

Drivers are encouraged to check weather updates frequently and ensure vehicles are equipped with winter tires or chains. Those planning outdoor holiday activities should bundle up as wind chills could drop into the teens during the early mornings.
