Great Falls, MT – A High Wind Watch has been issued for parts of Montana, including the Rocky Mountain Front and adjacent foothills, from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. Wind gusts could reach up to 75 mph, creating hazardous conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Great Falls, southwest winds are expected to sustain speeds between 30 and 50 mph, with the strongest gusts affecting areas such as East Glacier Park, Cut Bank, Browning, and Choteau. The warning extends to Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties.
The strongest winds are anticipated from late Sunday morning through Monday afternoon, though additional bursts of high winds could occur late Friday night into early Saturday and again late Saturday night into early Sunday. These conditions could move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
