Glasgow, MT – A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for central and southeast Phillips, central and southern Valley, Petroleum, Garfield, and McCone counties from noon to 8 p.m. MDT on Friday, April 11, 2025.
According to the National Weather Service, northwest winds are expected to range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. These strong winds are likely to create hazardous conditions for small craft, particularly on Fort Peck Lake. Rough waves are expected, making boating dangerous.
Residents and visitors in the affected areas are urged to exercise caution, especially those planning to be on the water. The advisory warns that small boats could be overturned in the rough conditions. Boaters are strongly advised to secure their vessels and avoid going out on the lake unless conditions improve.
The weather event is expected to last through Friday evening, with winds gradually calming after 8 p.m. Stay tuned for updates from local weather services for any changes to the advisory.
