North Dakota – The NOAA National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of eastern Montana and North Dakota, effective until midnight CDT on Monday, July 15. Residents in these areas are warned of strong to severe storms expected to develop this afternoon and evening.

According to the NOAA, the storms pose a significant risk for large hail, potentially exceeding two inches in diameter, along with damaging winds that could surpass 75 mph. The watch also includes the potential for one or two tornadoes to develop, adding to the severe weather threats. Areas such as Williston, Minot, and Glendive are advised to remain vigilant and prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions.

The hazardous weather conditions could lead to property damage, power outages, and hazardous travel conditions. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects that could be blown away by strong winds and to move vehicles into garages or other sheltered areas to prevent hail damage.
