Monroe, MI – A 14-year-old boy from Monroe, Michigan, was arrested on Sunday following a high-speed police chase involving a mini-bike. The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. in Frenchtown Township, Monroe County.

Monroe County Sheriff Deputy Corey Jacobs responded to reports of reckless driving involving mini-bikes near Cloverdale Street and Parkwood Drive in the Woodland Beach area. Upon arriving, Deputy Jacobs attempted to stop a black mini-bike, but the operator sped away, ignoring traffic stops and continuing to drive recklessly through the Woodland Beach and Erie Shores subdivisions. The pursuit ended when the mini-bike stopped along Lakeshore Drive, and the suspect fled on foot toward Lake Erie. He was quickly apprehended by deputies nearby.

The suspect was taken to the Monroe County Youth Center, facing charges for fleeing and eluding police. His identity is being withheld pending further proceedings in the Monroe County Juvenile Court Division. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is ongoing.
