Kansas City, MO – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of northwest Missouri, with snow and strong winds expected to create hazardous travel conditions on Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, the advisory covers Atchison, Holt, and Nodaway counties from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. CDT on Wednesday. Snow accumulations could reach up to one inch, while wind gusts may peak at 60 mph, reducing visibility and creating slick roads.

Commuters should expect slippery road conditions, especially during the evening commute. Strong winds could also lead to tree damage and blowing snow, further impacting visibility.

Officials urge travelers to slow down, drive cautiously, and check Missouri road conditions at traveler.modot.org. Pedestrians should be cautious on sidewalks, stairs, and driveways, as icy surfaces increase the risk of falls and injuries.
