St. Louis, MO – A warm front is set to push through Missouri on Friday, bringing significant temperature changes and rain risks across the state. While northern areas may see lingering cold and a chance of light snow, southern regions, including St. Louis, will experience a warming trend, with highs potentially reaching the mid-50s by Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis, temperatures on Friday will climb to near 45°F during the day. Rain is expected to develop late Friday night into Saturday, particularly along major roadways such as I-70, potentially creating hazardous driving conditions. Those traveling for weekend plans should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads during heavy rainfall periods.
The extended forecast shows rain continuing Saturday, with a high near 49°F, and a chance of thunderstorms. Rain will taper off late Saturday night, followed by a mild and mostly sunny Sunday, with temperatures peaking at 52°F. However, rain returns Monday, accompanied by a possible thunderstorm and highs approaching 59°F.
Residents are urged to monitor local forecasts, especially those in northern Missouri, where light snow may create minor travel disruptions. Significant snowfall accumulation is not expected, but untreated roads could become slippery.
To prepare for the weekend, pack umbrellas and ensure vehicles are road-ready for wet conditions. Motorists should check the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) website for updates on potential travel delays.
Be sure to stay weather-aware and plan accordingly to enjoy the mild temperatures safely.
