Kansas City, MO – Light rain showers are expected this morning across parts of northwest, north-central, and west-central Missouri, as well as extreme eastern Kansas. While no severe weather is anticipated today, a heightened fire risk is forecast for Friday due to low humidity and breezy conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, isolated to scattered showers will move through the region this morning before clearing out by the afternoon. Meanwhile, the St. Louis area could see a slight chance of thunderstorms in southeastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois this evening.
By Friday, an elevated fire danger is expected due to a combination of dry vegetation, low relative humidity, and gusty winds. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning.
Looking ahead, a chance of thunderstorms returns on Tuesday and Tuesday night. While it is too early to predict severe weather, officials recommend staying updated on the latest forecasts.
