Springfield, MO – Rainfall is expected to continue through Friday morning across parts of eastern Missouri, particularly east of Springfield. As remnants of Tropical Storm “Francine” push through the region, residents in areas like Rolla and Lebanon should prepare for rain, with localized pockets receiving up to 1.5 inches of precipitation.
According to the National Weather Service, most areas along and east of Highway 63 will see between 0.10 to 0.75 inches of rain by Friday morning. While this rainfall is expected to ease by Friday afternoon, no thunderstorms or flooding are anticipated due to dry soils. Areas west of Springfield, including Joplin and Nevada, will likely remain dry.
Residents should monitor local forecasts for potential updates and plan outdoor activities for Saturday, which is expected to stay dry across much of southwestern Missouri. While rain may linger in eastern regions, minimal precipitation is forecast for the weekend, allowing for clearer skies and cooler temperatures.
