Kansas City, MO – Warmer-than-normal temperatures and gusty southerly winds will dominate Missouri’s weekend weather, with highs reaching into the 80s across much of the state through Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, daytime temperatures will rise steadily, peaking in the low to mid-80s Sunday afternoon in cities including Kansas City, St. Joseph, and Sedalia. Gusts between 25 to 30+ mph are expected throughout the weekend, especially during the day and early evening hours.

The warm pattern, which began Friday, is expected to continue through late Sunday before slightly cooler air moves in for the start of the workweek. Overnight lows will generally stay in the 60s. The forecast calls for only a low-end 20% chance or less of isolated showers Sunday night into early Monday, but most areas will remain dry.

Residents are encouraged to secure lightweight outdoor items and remain cautious during outdoor activities due to the gusty winds. Breezy conditions could also impact high-profile vehicles on open roadways.

Looking ahead, widespread showers and thunderstorms may return by mid-to-late week, bringing more typical spring weather patterns back to the region. No hazardous weather is currently expected this weekend.
