Springfield, MO – A strong spring storm is set to hit Missouri on Wednesday, bringing powerful winds and light snow that could impact travel across the region. Wind gusts up to 55 mph and freezing temperatures are expected, with the heaviest effects felt during the early morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Wind Advisory remains in effect from midnight Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday for Springfield and surrounding areas. Winds will shift from the northwest, reaching sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. The combination of strong winds and light snow could reduce visibility, making morning commutes hazardous.
Rain is expected to transition to snow before 4 a.m. Wednesday, with up to 1.5 inches of accumulation possible in some areas, particularly northwest of Branson to Salem. Wind chills will drop into the teens and 20s, adding to the discomfort.

• Thursday: Partly sunny, high of 51°F.
• Friday: Sunny with a high of 62°F.
• Saturday: Partly sunny, high near 50°F.
• Sunday: Clear skies, warming up to 64°F.
Drivers should use caution on roads as winds could push vehicles off course, especially on open highways like Interstate 44. Power outages are also possible due to downed tree limbs. Stay updated with local alerts and prepare for changing conditions throughout the day.
