Orange County, IN – A Missouri man was arrested on Friday evening following a reckless driving complaint near Paoli. Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Collins responded after a call about a vehicle dragging its rear bumper along US 150.

Zachary D. Heiniger, 35, of Saint Charles, Missouri, was identified as the driver. Heiniger reportedly admitted to running into a pole at a Jasper golf course, which caused the damage to his vehicle. Officers noted that Heiniger showed visible signs of impairment during the interaction.

Heiniger was taken to IU Health Hospital for a chemical test and medical clearance. He was then arrested on a charge of operating while impaired (OWI), a Class A misdemeanor. He is currently held at the Orange County Jail on bond.
