St. Louis, MO – Drivers are urged to use caution as dense fog continues to develop across central Missouri roads through early Sunday. Visibility is expected to drop to as low as a quarter mile, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until Sunday morning. The advisory includes major roadways such as Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 50. Travelers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and keep extra distance between vehicles. Patchy fog may lift temporarily Saturday afternoon but is likely to redevelop overnight as temperatures cool.

Looking ahead, rain is forecast to move into the area late Saturday night and continue through Sunday morning. Expect scattered showers with highs near 55 degrees and winds of up to 10 mph on Sunday. Cooler temperatures are predicted for the upcoming week, with highs in the low 50s Monday and widespread rain returning Monday night.

For New Year’s Day, the forecast is partly sunny with a high near 38, offering a brief reprieve before colder conditions resume midweek. Local residents should prepare for rain-soaked roadways and fluctuating visibility over the next 48 hours.
