According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, temperatures Monday will climb to a high of 66°F, with overnight lows staying around 49°F—potentially tying or breaking historical records for warmest lows. Breezy conditions are also expected, with gusts reaching 41 mph along US 65 and surrounding areas. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to begin early Monday morning, bringing significant rainfall of up to an inch in some areas.

Tuesday will bring relief as clear skies and cooler temperatures settle in. Highs will reach around 61°F, with nighttime lows dipping to a brisk 37°F. By Wednesday, temperatures will fall further, with highs of 49°F and lows near freezing at 34°F. Sunny skies and calm conditions will dominate the latter half of the week.

Drivers traveling along I-44 or US 65 should remain cautious of slick roads on Monday and plan for possible delays due to rain. Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture and holiday decorations due to strong wind gusts.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain cool through Thursday, with highs around 46°F. This week’s stark shift in weather serves as a reminder to prepare for sudden changes during late fall in Missouri.
