Jackson, Miss. – Lingering thunderstorms across Mississippi will begin clearing out around midnight, bringing cooler air to the region with lows dipping into the upper 60s in the Golden Triangle and low 70s elsewhere.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, scattered showers will gradually diminish after sunset across central and eastern parts of the state, with the highest rain chances before midnight. The Golden Triangle area—including Columbus, Starkville, and West Point—will see the coolest temps overnight, hovering in the upper 60s.
Further south and west, cities like Jackson, Natchez, and Vicksburg are expected to bottom out in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies. Rain chances remain around 15–25% through midnight, especially in southern and southeastern counties.
Drivers should use caution on wet roads tonight, especially in areas recently hit by downpours. Avoid low-lying spots prone to ponding.
Cooler and calmer weather is expected into early Thursday, though more thunderstorms may return by the weekend.
