Minneapolis, MN – Light snow overnight has blanketed the Twin Cities, creating slick road conditions across the area. Morning commuters are urged to take extra precautions, as untreated areas remain icy.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are expected to taper off by mid-morning, with total accumulation under one inch. Today’s high will reach 25°F, with winds from the northwest keeping the wind chill near 10°F. Plow crews have been active overnight, but drivers should reduce speeds and increase following distances to avoid accidents.

The forecast predicts clearer skies this afternoon, followed by mostly cloudy conditions tonight and a low of 15°F. Looking ahead, Tuesday brings partly sunny skies and a high of 28°F, offering a brief reprieve before another system moves in midweek.

Wednesday could see gusts of up to 40 mph as a cold front sweeps through the region. Wind chills are expected to dip significantly, with a high of only 17°F on Thursday. By Friday, calmer conditions return, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 26°F.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and allow extra travel time through the week. Bundle up when heading outdoors, and ensure vehicles are equipped with winter safety kits, including blankets, a flashlight, and jumper cables.
