Macon, GA – Two United States Postal Service employees were arrested this week in Bibb County as investigators continue to pursue additional suspects in an ongoing mail theft investigation tied to the local postal system.

According to the Bibb County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the arrests follow a joint investigation involving the sheriffโ€™s office Criminal Investigation Division, Patrol Division, the United States Postal Service, and the Office of Inspector General. Investigators say the case centers on alleged theft of mail connected to postal workers in the area.

Authorities said 26-year-old Anthony Tyler Thomas was allegedly identified as one of the suspects during the investigation. Deputies apprehended Thomas Monday morning while he was working a shift at the Zebulon Road Post Office. He was transported to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning before being taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Thomas was charged with felony theft by possession of stolen property, according to investigators. Officials say he has since posted bond and was released.

Investigators also arrested 28-year-old Toni Jones-Coleman Tuesday shortly before 1 p.m. after she reportedly turned herself in to the Criminal Investigation Division. Authorities said Jones-Coleman was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with felony theft by taking. Officials confirmed she has also posted bond.

The investigation remains active, and deputies say two additional suspects are still wanted in connection with the case.

Authorities are searching for 46-year-old Summer Battle and 30-year-old Savon Lashaun Harris, who investigators say are both former Postal Service employees. Both are wanted in Bibb County on felony theft by possession of stolen property charges.

Officials say additional charges could follow as investigators continue reviewing evidence connected to the alleged theft of mail.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Harris or Battle, or with information related to the investigation, is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriffโ€™s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
