Minneapolis, Minnesota – Storms could rumble across southwest Minnesota by late Friday as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop during the afternoon and push eastward into the evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, partly cloudy skies will give way to storm activity by mid-to-late afternoon in western Minnesota, with the potential for a few strong cells, especially in areas like Marshall, Worthington, and the I-90 corridor. Highs today will hover between 70 and 75°F, with overnight lows dipping to the 50s.

Saturday looks quieter, with mostly cloudy skies and warmer highs ranging from 75 to 80°F. Sunday brings a chance for isolated showers in the afternoon, but widespread rain isn’t expected. Lows this weekend will stay mild, between 55 and 65°F.

Drivers should use caution during the evening commute, particularly along US-14 and Highway 59, where visibility may be reduced and localized flooding is possible. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and have weather alerts enabled on mobile devices.

Storm activity is expected to diminish overnight. More updates will follow if additional advisories are issued.
