Twin Cities, MN – Minnesota is experiencing record-high temperatures today, with highs climbing into the upper 60s and mid-70s across much of the state. However, the warmth will be short-lived as a strong cold front moves in overnight, bringing a dramatic temperature drop.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, breezy west winds with gusts up to 40 mph are expected by late afternoon. The combination of warm temperatures and lower humidity levels has raised fire weather concerns in western and central Minnesota.

Overnight into Tuesday, temperatures will plummet, with morning lows dropping into the 20s and daytime highs struggling to reach the 40s. This drastic shift will bring much colder conditions statewide.

By Wednesday, temperatures will begin to rebound slightly, with highs in the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies. Residents should prepare for fluctuating weather conditions, particularly those traveling or engaging in outdoor activities.

Officials advise residents to secure loose objects due to strong winds and remain cautious of increased fire risks before the cold front arrives. Stay updated with local forecasts as conditions change rapidly.
