Duluth, MN – Residents across northeast Minnesota can expect spotty rain and light snow over the next few days as a series of weak systems move through the region, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.

Light rain mixed with a few snowflakes is expected tonight after midnight, with temperatures dipping into the mid-20s to mid-30s. Wednesday will bring a brief break in precipitation, featuring mostly sunny and breezy conditions and highs in the low 40s to low 50s.

The next round of moisture arrives Thursday afternoon and evening, when rain showers are likely—especially in the Borderlands and higher elevations along the North Shore, where some light snow could mix in. The NWS says no accumulation is expected, but the pattern signals the start of a cooler trend heading into the weekend.

Drivers should watch for brief slick spots overnight and during early morning hours, particularly in higher terrain where temperatures may briefly dip below freezing.

Cooler, more seasonable temperatures are expected to follow heading into Friday and the weekend.
